Expert nutritionist Cyndi O'Meara talks to Sharny and Julius about the HCG in Australia and how to make the most of the HCG Diet to lose up to a kilo a day!

HCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a naturally occuring hormone, found in highest concentration in the first trimester of a pregnancy. The hormone basically promotes the release of stubborn body fat into the bloodstream, to be used as a substitute fuel for mums who can't stomach any food, but still need to create a safe, comfortable home for their growing foetus.
The HCG diet uses homeopathic drops to promote the release of stored fat, to be used by the body as fuel, promoting very fast weight loss. To stem the cravings, someone on the HCG diet maintains a 500-calorie per day diet, forcing the body to burn fat instead of food calories.
