Healthy French Onion Dip Recipe

Dip goes well with chips. And until now, we have pretended it was healthy by putting carrot sticks onto the plate next to it.

The day after a party, there seems to be no dip, and no chips; but the carrot sticks are still there...

Now, you can combine the dip with the chips (see recipe here) and leave the carrots in the fridge and still have a shredded 6 pack.

Ingredients:
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan sea salt
  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sesame seed butter
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt
  • 1/4 cup homemade mayo (see our recipe here)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp coconut aminos (tastes similar to soy sauce)
How to make:
  1. 1
Sauté onions, garlic and sea salt in the coconut oil on low heat until it caramelizes (about 20 minutes).
  2. 2
Add all the other ingredients into a food processor, then put one tablespoon of the sautéed onion in for flavour before blending it to a smooth texture.
  3. 3
Stir in the remaining caramelized onions for lumpy goodness.
  4. 4
Put the dip in the fridge. The longer you leave it, the nicer it tastes.
