Are kids wiser than adults?

Something to ponder…

I look at my youngest son Emmett, and he is always happy. But not just happy, it’s almost like he knows something we don’t. Something good, you know, like we’ve won lotto but he’s the only one who knows. It’s almost a distracted joy, a secret he can’t share yet (he’s 1yo).

So it got me thinking… What if kids are born with this “knowing” that their life is going to be filled with awesomeness. Filled full. Fulfilled.

A little secret that they have, but we (adults) think we need to fill them with our knowledge and stress and rules and chastising and congratulations.

Imagine… A parent’s job is to support and share the experiences of a child, not control.

What do you think?
